The Cook positionwill accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items.

Essential Job Requirements Include:

Serving meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen

Attention to the detail and presentation of each order

Places and expedites orders

Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals

Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients

Adhering to proper food handling and safety procedures

Maintaining temperature logs as required including appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items

Proper storage ofleftovers according to established standards

Coordinating daily food supply inventory

Contributing to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with department leader

Ensuring smooth operation ofdining services

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas

Daily dish/pot washing

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time

Must be able to work semi-independently without direct supervision by following all standards

Preferred Requirements:

1year experience in a culinary role

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand and occasionally required to sit, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
